FAQ
The questions workshops and suppliers ask most. If yours isn't answered here, get in touch.
Getting started
- Who can join?
- Furniture workshops join to place orders; firms that cut board to size and apply edging join as suppliers. We review every application and open accounts for the firms that fit.
- Who chooses the supplier?
- You do. Suppliers that stock the boards and edgings on your list are shown with their prices, and you order from the one you choose.
- What can I try without an account?
- You can size the models and see their cutting lists, and paste your own list to see how it is read. To see prices and order, you need a trade account.
Lists and prices
- How do I order a job that isn't one of the models?
- Choose the board first, then enter each part's name, length, width, quantity and edging. For woodgrain decors you also set the grain direction. You can paste the list straight from Excel, and price comparison and ordering work just as they do for lists from a model.
- How do I specify edging?
- Each part gets a single choice, such as no edging, one long edge, two long edges or all four edges. In lists from a model, the edged sides are set automatically from the model.
- How is the price worked out?
- The parts' board area plus the supplier's waste allowance is charged at the board's price per m². Metres of edging and the cutting charge are added to that. Depending on the supplier, cutting is charged per piece or per metre cut. If the supplier has a minimum order, the total is raised to it.
- What if a part doesn't fit the sheet?
- When the list is priced, parts that don't fit the sheet are flagged and the order can't be sent. You correct the size or split the part.
Orders, payment and delivery
- Where can I see my order's status?
- Your account shows each order's reference number, supplier and current status. You also get an email whenever the status changes.
- How do I pay?
- The order total goes on your trade account. Card payment isn't available on the site yet.
- How does delivery work?
- Each supplier sets its own delivery options: courier, its own vehicle or collection. You pick one when you order and enter the delivery address. The lead time is shown in working days next to the price.
- Can I cancel an order?
- You can cancel in your account until the supplier accepts the order. Once it is accepted, you need to talk to the supplier.
- Can I order the same job again?
- Yes. When you repeat a past order, its list, board and delivery details open in the order form, ready to change and send.
Cut-to-size suppliers
- How do I set my prices?
- Pick the boards and edgings you sell from the shared catalogue and enter your price per m² or per metre. You also set your cutting charge, waste allowance, minimum order and lead time in your account.
- How do orders reach me?
- When a workshop chooses you, the order lands in your account and you get an email. It lists every part's size, quantity and edging, and the delivery address. You can print a cut sheet without prices for the shop floor.
- On which orders does my price show?
- On lists where your catalogue has every board and edging. If one item is missing, you won't be priced for that list, so the wider your catalogue, the more lists you appear on.
